The Art, Culture & Language Department’s of the Delhi government under Delhi’s Deputy CM Mr Manish Sisodia to hold the 9th edition of the Youth Festival from December 1st to 6th at Central Park, Cannaught Place from 6 PM onwards. The 6-day long extravaganza will be a celebration of all music, dance, theatre and arts.
“Youth is the future of our country and we have always kept our faith in the development of the youth and children to make our nation better. We also believe that culture is the best way to reach out to the people from any section of the society. The 6-day long Youth Festival will bring musical performances, dance, theatre and many other performances. We are determined to preserve the cultural heritage of the city. Our government hopes to create an environment of harmony and love through such programs. Reaching out to a new audience is important in doing so. This celebration of the Youth Festival will bring together all the lovers of every culture and language who can enjoy the show,” said Deputy CM Mr Manish Sisodia.
The Youth Festival is one such big platform that will showcase creative and constructive involvement of youth in Delhi The audience will get to witness an exciting lineup of artists performing dance, music, Laser show and street plays on a single stage.
Besides, there will be Kala Mela, an art Exhibition where upcoming artist will be exhibiting their art pieces..
On the first day of the festival, people will get mesmerized by Sarod and Rabab ensemble by disciples of Mukesh Sharma. This will be followed by a cultural performance by Tapaswani Navsadhana. Later, Disciples of Jayalakshmi Eshwar will present Bharatanatyam ensemble. After this Street Play by Parikalpana Cultural Society and contemporary dance by disciples of Shivam Chauhan. The evening will get enlightened by Shyam Arts and group’s folk dance. The evening will come to an end by a band performance by Ekagra.
The second day will start with the Tabla ensembles by disciples of Akram Khan. This will be followed by a cultural performance by Salam Baalak Trust. Disciples of Kanaka Shrinivasan will present Bharatanatyam Ensemble. Artwork Theatre Studio will present a Street Play. Later in the evening disciples of Nisha Rawat will perform a contemporary dance. This will be followed by a folk dance by Veena Vyas and group. The evening will come to an end with a band performance by Project Raag.
The third day will have a line-up of yet another talented artists and organizations like Pakhawaj ensemble by disciples of Fateh Singh Gangani. This will be followed by a cultural performance by Taleem. Artists from Trilalla Gurukulam and disciples of Dr Deepti Omcherry Bhalla will present Kerala’s dance form Mohiniattam. Later, artists from Common People group will present a street play. The evening will continue with a contemporary dance by the disciples of Sachin Rai and will be followed by a folk dance by Subhash Nagada and group. Like the previous 2 days, the third day will also come to an end with a band performance by Surtheka.
The fourth day will commence with Sitar ensembles by disciples of Prateek Choudhary. Following that will be the cultural performances by Jan Akanjsha Prathisthan. Odissi ensembles by disciples of Ranjana Gauhar followed by a street play by Lakshay and group will entertain one and all present. Contemporary dance by disciples of Ajay Kumar and a folk dance by Sukhvinder Singh and group will round up the activities for the evening. The evening will end of the band Swarism.
The fifth day will begin with the flute ensembles by disciples of Chetan Joshi. Following this will be a cultural program by Manzil Mystics. Kathak ensembles by disciples of Abhimanyu Lala will be next on the agenda. Next will be a street play Gulzar and group. Post this there will be a cultural dance performance by disciples of Bhavni Mishra. The evening will end with the Folk dance by Pratibha Kala Kendra and the Rock N Raaga band.
The last day of the festival will have a great line-up of performances beginning with violin ensembles by disciples of Sharat Chandra Srivastava. Next will be the cultural performances by Prayas Juvenile Aid Center Society (JAC) Thereafter there will be Odissi performances by Madhumita Raut. Then there will be Street plays by Prasoon Narayan and group. Contemporary dance by Santosh Nair and group and will follow. The evening will round up with folk dance by Jaymala Arts and group along with the Firdaus band.
The Youth Festival will feature a wide variety of talents from across genres. One of the highlights of the event is that both, eminent artists and upcoming talents will come together to participate in this grand celebration of youth.
