Delhi is all set to welcome nature enthusiasts and flower lovers alike as the 36th Garden Tourism Festival kicks off from the 16th to the 18th of February 2024 at the serene Garden of Five Senses, located near the Saket Metro Station. Organized by Delhi Tourism in collaboration with the Delhi Government, this three-day extravaganza promises to be a celebration of flora and fauna like never before.
Spanning across a sprawling 20-acre venue, the Garden of Five Senses offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The lush greenery and vibrant blooms provide a picturesque setting, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of nature.
With the theme “The Earth Laughs in Flowers”, the festival captures the essence of spring, where the entire planet comes alive with the riot of colors and fragrances. From delicate roses to majestic lilies, from exotic dahlias to humble chrysanthemums, the festival showcases a dazzling array of flora across 32 different categories. Visitors can marvel at everything from cacti to potted plants, from medicinal herbs to hanging baskets adorned with verdant foliage.
Participating entities such as the Horticulture Department, DDA, MCD, Northern Railway, and Delhi Jal Board are bringing their expertise to the fore, creating enchanting displays that showcase the diversity and beauty of nature. Additionally, attendees can indulge in their passion for gardening by perusing stalls offering fresh plants, garden equipment, fertilizers, and more.
One of the highlights of the festival is the creation of miniature gardens, where institutions like NDMC, MCD, DJB, and Northern Railway showcase their creativity through intricate models. From whimsical arrangements of flowers to meticulously crafted terrariums, these miniature gardens are a testament to the ingenuity and artistry of the participants.
For young budding artists, Delhi Tourism has organized an on-the-spot painting competition, providing a platform for school students to showcase their talent amidst the verdant surroundings. Additionally, cultural programs will be held every evening, adding a touch of festivity and entertainment to the event.
The Garden Tourism Festival will be open to visitors from 11 am to 9 pm, offering ample time for everyone to explore and enjoy the splendor of nature. With an entry fee of just Rs 35 per person, this event is not only affordable but also offers an enriching experience for individuals of all ages.
